BLS EXPERIENCE: Rookie

WHY BLS? This will be my first Boston Light Swim. The historical significance was what initially interested me. I also went to college just outside Boston and haven’t returned in years.

MY CREW: Marie Reynolds is my crew person. She is a friend I worked with as a VISTA volunteer some 44 years ago in the tiny Pacific Ocean town of LaPush, Washington. My pilot is Dario Cence who has piloted the event for a number of years now.

FUN FACT: I swam the SCAR event in 2022 and returned this year to volunteer for an English swimmer, Claire Russel, who completed all 4 legs of the challenge. Also, when I hopefully complete this event I will be leaving shortly thereafter to drive to my 50th year high school reunion in upstate New York, the evening of August 19th.
